Around our three sites, Auvergne unfolds like a vast playground for exploration. On foot, by bike or by mountain bike, set off along dozens of waymarked trails and legendary long-distance routes such as the GR paths that cross lakes, volcanoes and high meadows. From peaceful lakeshores to volcanic ridges, every outing becomes an immersion in unspoilt, spectacular nature.
Between rivers and lakes: Auvergne, a fishing paradise
Auvergne is a land of fast-flowing rivers and unspoilt lakes, recognised as one of France's great fishing regions. The Sioule, an iconic trout river, winds through the heart of the Combrailles, while the Allier remains one of Europe's last great salmon rivers. Around our sites, many lakes offer ideal conditions for predator and carp fishing. Staying with Evanature means choosing a prime base from which to explore these rich, unspoilt waters.
